Its About Time!

So, we finally sucked it up and took Trey's pacifier away. He only uses it to go to sleep, but he's so addicted to it that he cried for it every time he wakes up in the middle of the night. Also, he ends up coming in our room every night around one in the morning because he has woken up (I'm guessing its because the pacifier has come out of his mouth and he's wakes up looking for it but can't find it so he comes in our room) and he cries for it and we're so exhausted that we just put him in our bed. I really would have no problem with him sleeping with us except for the fact that he is such a restless sleeper. He thrashes and hits and moves and whines and it is ridiculous. So, I'm getting no sleep still. Mary Grace is a much better sleeper than Trey! We're really hoping that taking away the pacifier will help. (And he also just looks really silly being two with it in his mouth...)

Most of you have seen Trey in Georgia or know him from Wake Forest, but don't really know his personality now that he is a little older, so this might not be funny to you but it was hysterical to us. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

So, I cut a tiny little bit off the tip of it. I handed it to him when it was time to go to bed and he put it in his mouth(Right after he said in his excited, high pitched voice "oh, thank you" which made me feel kind of bad.) Well, then he leaned over to pick something up and it fell out. He looked at it kind of weird and put it back in and tried to suck on it. He had this really funny, concerned face. Robby picked him up to put him to bed and he took it out and make a noise like "phshh"...
He was playing it with the whole time Robby was reading him his Bible story and then
he got in his bed. Robby went in a little while later to check on him and he said "Blanket" which meant for him to tuck him in bed again because the blanket had come off of him. And Robby said "I love you Trey" and looked at him and his eyes were closed and he was laying there content WITHOUT HIS PACIFIER IN HIS MOUTH. This is a HUGE deal for us. He usually cries when its time to go to bed because he just hates it. He went down perfectly for us without even a whimper. (I think part of it was because he missed his nap today, but I think that played in our favor!)

So, let's pray that he sleeps through the night and that he doesn't freak out anymore and cry for that silly pacifier!
